Nature Club 2nd Friday morning seeds 14 Sept 2012

Field Trip Naturalist: This staff person leads school field trip activities.

Applicant should have education or experience supervising children grades k-8; maintaining control of as many as 20 children; guiding pre-written, field trip activities; facilitating hands-on learning; and posses adequate knowledge of earth science or life science.

Applicant should be available week days between 9 am and 3 pm. This position is as scheduled.

SEASONAL GROUNDSKEEPER:



The Brenton Arboretum is offering two seasonal groundskeeper positions to qualified individuals to help maintain our grounds, landscape, tree collections, and facilities to the highest display standards.



Groundskeepers will work with arboretum staff in various capacities including watering, weeding, planting, pruning, mulching, nursery and propagation work, pest management, small-engine equipment use and maintenance, litter removal, native plant conservation, and the restoration and maintenance of native prairie and woodlands.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP:



The Brenton Arboretum is offering a summer horticulture internship to students interested in gaining practical experience in an arboretum/nature park setting. This will be the first summer internship offered by the institution and as such will be a wonderful opportunity to blaze a trail as we craft this program. This intern will work with arboretum staff in various capacities to plant and maintain the arboretum landscape to the highest horticultural standards. Training will be provided in skills including watering, weeding, planting, pruning, mulching, nursery & propagation work, plant identification, integrated pest management, small-engine equipment use and maintenance, native plant conservation, and the restoration & maintenance of native prairie and woodlands.
